Presented by CulturalDC and located outside the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, MIGHTY MIGHTY: The Barbershop Project by Devan Shimoyama reimagines the barbershop as a site of transformation, self-expression, and queer beauty. Inspired by Shimoyama’s experiences growing up as a Black queer youth, the exhibition transforms CulturalDC’s Mobile Art Gallery into a vibrant space for community care and conversation. Featuring immersive design and free haircuts, the installation invites visitors to reflect on identity, visibility, and healing.
